The Xiuyuan Coffee Estate is located in the heart of Menglian County, Pu'er City, Yunnan Province, a region renowned for its exceptional coffee-growing conditions.
With 7,373 hectares of coffee plantations spread across six towns, Menglian is a hub of quality and innovation.
The estate is managed by a dedicated group of 550 smallholder farmers who primarily grow the Catimor varietal, celebrated for its high yield and robust disease resistance.
At an altitude of 1,800 masl, the Xiuyuan Estate benefits from Yunnan’s unique geographical and climatic conditions, creating an environment ideal for producing high-quality coffee.
The estate employs an Anaerobic Natural processing method, adding complexity and depth to this coffee’s already vibrant profile.
Processing Details
After careful harvesting, ripe cherries are sealed in anaerobic fermentation tanks, where they ferment for 48–72 hours.
This step intensifies the coffee's fruitiness and sweetness while developing complex wine-like notes.
Post-fermentation, the cherries are transferred to raised drying beds for 2–4 weeks, ensuring even drying and preserving the coffee's bright and juicy flavours.
The result? A richly layered espresso with bold fruit character and a lingering sweet finish that’s as comforting as it is exciting.
